Nova Scotia's South Shore is a beautiful section of the province. For the first time in many years, my artwork is now available on the South Shore in the seaside village of Chester. Going Coastal is a wonderful shop located at 41 Queen Street and features fine art and craft plus custom and prebuilt reclaimed furniture. My thanks to Robyn and Jeremiah for this opportunity ... and the excuse to visit the South Shore which is always a treat. Enjoy the art, enjoy Chester!
Creating work in my studio is a very personal experience. What began as an idea or feeling slowly takes shape through colour, movement, shape and texture. The next step is seeing the painting hanging in a gallery and that is always a revelation. At that point, the work has become public, standing on its own, open to interpretation. What I enjoy equally as much is seeing one of my paintings in a home or business setting where it moves one step further, now an integral part of a living environment. Having just placed a collection of work in a vibrant office setting, I am reminded how much artwork can enhance and influence our surroundings. That's what it's all about.
